New Superdooperlooper trains arrive at Hersheypark

By | May 2, 2012

Earlier today (May 2), Hersheypark, Hershey, Pa., took delivery of two new trains for its classic Schwarzkopf-built Superdooperlooper coaster. The trains, supplied by Germany’s Gerstlauer, look very similar to the old trains and still feature individual ratcheting lap bars on each seat. This set of trains, now the third set, replaces the second set, built by Switzerland’s Giovanola. The original set of trains were from the Schwarzkopf factory.

Hersheypark has donated one recently retired train to the National Roller Coaster Museum & Archives. It was shipped to the museum earlier today.

Shown here are photos, taken earlier today, of the new trains being load onto the ride’s storage track. Amusement Today will have more details on this story in the upcoming June print issue.
