ARLINGTON, Texas — Six Flags Over Texas prepares to dominate the North Texas sky as the park’s newest thrill ride gets ready to open. The Texas SkyScreamer was previewed May 23, by media and VIP guests. The ride opens to the public on Saturday, May 25, 2013.

At a staggering 400 feet, Texas SkyScreamer is now the park’s tallest attraction and will hold a record title as the tallest tower swing ride in the world. Twenty-four riders sit two across in open-air swings while spinning in a 124-foot circle at speeds up to 35 mph. At its 40 story peak, guests will have the ultimate view of the Arlington, Dallas and Fort Worth skylines.

“We are thrilled to add the tallest swing ride in the world to our premier line up of rides and attractions,” said Steve Martindale, park president of Six Flags Over Texas. “It offers the most unique ride experience for an attraction of this kind, and also lives up to the Texas mantra that everything is bigger in the Lone Star state!”

Texas SkyScreamer’s tower is painted red, white and blue with a globe that is surrounded with the words “Six Flags” and topped with the park’s iconic flags. The tower has redefined the park’s skyline.

Six Flags Gold Season Pass Holders get an exclusive sneak peek of the new ride the evening of May 23 and all Season Pass Holders will get advanced exclusive ride time on May 24.
