WWA creates awards to honor emerging leaders

By | July 12, 2012

The World Waterpark Association’s Board of Directors has created two new awards to give park operators an opportunity to recognize outstanding work by seasonal front-line staff.

Waterparks, aquatic centers and pools employ thousands of young adults each season and throughout the year. Many of these individuals are serving in their first work positions and take on important responsibilities in guest safety and service. For example, they might contribute to a guest rescue or provide meaningful customer service to a family in need.

Nominations are due August 3, 2012.

Emerging Leaders Employee of the Season Award:
Awarded to a seasonal, part-time employee who has demonstrated consistent service and/or leadership in their position that goes beyond standard expectations throughout the entire 2012 summer season or in a year-round position at an indoor facility.

Emerging Leaders Incident Spotlight Award:
Awarded to a seasonal, part-time employee who played an integral role in a significant event within the park that impacted guest safety or customer service in a meaningful way. This event might be a rescue or just going beyond the call of duty to meet the specific needs of a guest.
